Live-In Carer
Branch: Right at Home CHO5, CHO6, CHO7, CHO8, CHO9
Location: Client’s home
Reporting To: Branch Manager / Supervisor / Scheduler
Job Purpose
As a Live-In Carer, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care in the client’s home, enabling them to live safely, independently, and with dignity. You will deliver care in line with our core values of Authenticity, Accountability, Personability, and Helping People Thrive.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, respectful, and authentic personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, continence care, and mobility support
Promote client independence and wellbeing, helping clients to thrive in their own homes
Provide personable companionship, emotional support, and social engagement
Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light household tasks, and shopping
Support with medication reminders in accordance with company policy
Accurately complete care plans and promptly report any changes in a client’s condition
Follow all company policies, HIQA standards, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety guidelines
Communicate openly and professionally with clients, families, and the branch team
Use safe moving and handling practices at all times
Working Arrangements
The Live-In Carer will reside in the client’s home during scheduled live-in shifts only
Live-in care is delivered as part of a shared care arrangement with other carers
A private bedroom and reasonable access to household facilities will be provided while on shift
Daily rest breaks and time off will be arranged in compliance with the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997
Placement durations may vary depending on client needs
Essential Requirements
QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support (or equivalent)
Experience caring for older people or vulnerable adults
Fluent English (spoken and written)
Right to work in Ireland
Garda Vetting clearance
Two professional references
A caring, personable, and reliable approach
Ability to work independently while remaining accountable to the branch team
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Experience in dementia, palliative, or live-in care
Manual Handling and First Aid training

This is a shared live-in role and accommodation is provided only while the carer is on shift.
Outside of scheduled live-in shifts, carers are required to have their own independent accommodation.
This role should not be considered a permanent live-in position.
